My room on the 3rd floor was peaceful and quiet. Good water pressure. Internet is not included in the pric. It was all good, except that the room is a bit small.
There are not much space to walk around. Another issue is their lighting. It is too dim along the walkway to the hotel rooms. I can hardly locate the room as the room number is not clearly displayed.
The reception said they have noticed this issue and trying to do something to improve it. Overall, it is a nice hotel Overall, it is a nice hotel as it is newly opened.
Just a short walk to the tram, restaurants and main shopping area at Paradaplaz. Today's Top Deals. Get coupon. Items 1 to 57 on Ayutthaya's menu are standard Asian fast food entries, catering to typical western tastebuds.
What caught my attention was a row of mini posters taped on the front panel of the food counter, each featuring a house special.
At first bite, I was hooked on the taste of "wok hei" from the heat of the wok. I've been back to Ayutthaya a few times since, and on the most recent visit, I brought along some "reinforcements" so we could order more food to share.
After ordering our food and collecting our cutlery and paper napkins, we moved into the dining area to wait for our meal. The dining area is spacious, done up with shiny floor tiles and fluorescent lighting with a pinkish hue.
With Thai music playing in the background, it's almost as if I'm in a local eatery in Bangkok. Smokers will be pleased to know that there is a separate room just for them.
After a short wait, our first dish arrived. Apparently, it will soon be added to the line-up of regular dishes as customers like it.
Up next was a kids' favourite, "Moo Ping" - succulent pieces of marinated pork on skewers grilled to perfection, similar to those sold on the streets of Bangkok.
In addition to "Lanatale", we also ordered the "Som Tam" set meal - spicy green papaya salad served with sticky rice and deep-fried Thai-style crispy chicken pieces.
The manager offered us a complimentary bowl of sago pudding for dessert - it's something new they are trying for the menu. Ayutthaya also offers to cook your favourite Thai dish to order.
Well, at least they promise to try if you know the name of the dish, or can at least describe it! On the wall across from the food counter there are photos of various dishes prepared for regular customers.
Call ahead and ask for the manager, Miew. My personal favourite for authentic Thai food is still Sunisa's in Schwetzingen, but Ayutthaya is firmly in second place, so far!
Authentic and spicy thai food for a fair price. The soups and salats are very nice and like in thailand. Since coming to Mannheim, I have always been on the search for authentic Asian fares.
Chancing this gem of a restaurant, I went in and ever since, kept on coming back. The food served at Ayutthaya is not what they would call "verdeutscht", which means the altering of dishes to cater for the predominantly German local palate.
My friend had her first taste of Thai food and Thai hospitality both of which blew her away. Will definitely visit again before we leave.
First time I tried this restaurant, I had no special expectations. I thought it would be just another average Thai restaurant. After all, the dining room is relatively average.
How wrong I was. I rarely had better Thai food. Taste is fantastic, whatever the dish Every time I'm in town, I pick an hotel nearby just to be able to get takeaway dinner at Ayutthaya.
The food was excellent and the service also. Mannheim inner city has many International Resterants, but not enough American Dining like in the states.
I have traveled Thailand three times, and I always try to eat at places where only Thai people eat, to get the most And I can tell you, that the food which is served at Ayutthaya is just as authentic - especially, if you let the people working there know, that you really love the REAL Thai food!
Also, the prices are quite fair. Last but not least, the people working there are just lovely!! If you have a particular wish, just let them know and they will accommodate it.
Just go there and try it! You won't regret it! Flights Restaurants Things to do. Skip to main content. Log in to get trip updates and message other travellers.
